“Hi” to those of you who have been reading “Around the D” since it launched in January. You’ll still be getting the tales and lore about Davidson and its history from Jan in Archives, but you’ll also get an occasional posting from me, Sharon Byrd, regarding some of the “treasures” in our other Special Collections.
I’ve been a part of Davidson since 1979 when I accepted my first position in the library. I’ve seen many of you—current students, faculty, staff, and alumni—at the reference desk, doing research consultations, or in library instruction sessions. You’ll now find me on the second floor in the Archives office where I’ll be helping you with researching materials in the Archives and the Rare Book Room.
Stay tuned for stories about our collection of beautiful private press edtions from the Golden Cockerel Press, our limited edition copy of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, our collection of Robert Burns’ poetry, including a 1787 First Edinburgh edition…and more!
