Finding Aids – Use these databases to find research materials in the college archives collections
Combined Database: Archives, Manuscripts, Sound Files, Photographs and Artifacts - Search across four databases simultaneously. The results will be sorted and displayed by collection type: Archives, Manuscripts, AV, Photographs and Artifacts.
Archives Database – Search the institutional records of Davidson College from its establishment in 1837 to the present day. Included within the collection are president’s office records, academic department files, and student organization records.
Manuscript Database – Search for unpublished documents such as diaries, letters, speeches and sermons. The collections may be about an individual, a family or a group. The majority of the collections relate to students and alumni of the college and to civic organizations in the town of Davidson, North Carolina.
Photograph Database – Search more than 6,500 photographs and more than 4,000 negatives and slides. The collection primarily focuses on the history of Davidson College and the town of Davidson.
Audiovisual Database - Search for media including record albums, audiocassettes, videocassettes, music cds, cd-roms, and dvds. Most of the collection deals with campus events such as convocation, freshman orientation lectures, commencements, and reunions. There are also oral history tapes related to college and town history.
Artifacts Database – Search for objects and memorabilia connected to the college and town. The collection includes freshman beanies, t-shirts, uniforms, decals, badges and pins, trophies and more.

Local History Database- This database contain extracts of articles from college publications including the Davidson College Magazine and the Davidsonian that refer to people and events in the town of Davidson, NC between 1886 and the present.
College History – A bibliographic list of resources for researching college history.
College History and Statistics - Events, tuition and enrollment information by academic year.
Awards, Scholarships and Lectures – Student academic awards, graduate scholarships, and lecturers in named lecture series.
Faculty and Staff - Faculty and staff of Davidson College from 1837 to the present.
Named Professorships – Descriptions, names of recipients, and years held
Honorary Degrees – Names, class years for Davidson alumni, dates awarded, and names of honorary degrees awarded by Davidson College.
